Title: Blog on Mailer
Oil,is just one of the reasons Mailer gives for the Iraq war. This reason could have one of the worst effects on people locally around Middle Georgia. The rising cost of gas might just take us back to the days of horse and buggy. It could happen. We could even be flying mini saucers through the air to get to work on time in the near future. If course those saucers would probably use oil too.
If like Mailer said, “That once America occupies Iraq, it will also gain a chokehold on Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Middle East”, this might eventually lead to cheaper prices at the local Chevron gas station on Hwy.96. We as Middle Georgians are just as dependent on oil as the rest of the United States. Employees of the base, or any place in Warner Robins, must get to work somehow even if the employee does not drive their selves. Chances are that however, the local employee gets to work will somehow use oil. Mailer also goes on to say that, oil could never be an admitted reason for war (57). I agree. Oil as a reason far war seems to be a secret that most everyone knows.
Take a step into the yard of most people’s homes in Bonaire, GA this time of year and grass is generally, what you will step onto. That grass has to mowed. The lawnmower we use to cut the grass, you guessed it uses oil also. Even though we have perfectly good scissors in the house, it’s just more convenient to use the oil consuming lawnmowers. If the nation runs out of oil soon people could be out covering the grass with concrete or cutting it with oversized scissors.
Whatever the future holds in one respect I can see how our country could benefit from the war because of the need for oil in the United States. However, there is a need for independence away from oil. Learning to do day to day activities energy efficiently could benefit the country far more than the Iraq war. Its just a thought but it couldn’t be that difficult to the store and it could even help with the weight problem in the U.S..

Pass. You related the concept to your everyday life very well, I just can't help but feel that everyone wrote about oil.
Pass. You covered an interesting subject very well. However there are quite a few grammar and punctuation errors.
